Happy Sunday, friends! Our Farmhouse Office Refresh Reveal is finally here! I’ve been working my little tushy off to get this room done! Originally I was on a deadline to get it done before a pretty big photoshoot, but that ended up getting postponed until October. No biggie though, it ended up working out for the best and giving me a few extra days to pull the last final details together. PLUS, having that fire under my butt meant I got this room done in just about 3 weeks! And that means I can really enjoy the Fall and Winter seasons now, without any major renovations! Not to worry, I’ve still got lots of content lined up for y’all over the next few months!

Before I give y’all the juicy goodness of this farmhouse office refresh reveal (that I REALLY hope you love as much as we do – *crosses fingers*), I want to remind you where we started!
Just a blah space with no personality. We loved this desk, but it was just too big in the space.
And after some (really) hard work, a few curse words, and multiple glasses of wine, here’s where we are now:

I knew I wanted to spruce up these closet doors, and O’verlays made it happen! We used the Diamond Interior Door O’verlays in a custom size to fit our doors, and I just love the extra texture and pop they give to the room! I just attached them with permanent stick glue dots. This allows us to remove and clean, plus gives me the option to paint them in the future. Admittedly I couldn’t decide between leaving them white or going bold with black! I’m loving them white for now, but love having the option to switch it up. You can also adhere them permanently with liquid nails.

Wallpops was generous enough to send us this wallpaper, and we just love it! It’s the Grey Woods wallpaper, and we used 4 rolls for this space (2 walls above the chair rail). Wallpops also sent us the dry erase wallpaper for our giant dry erase board I created on the opposite wall. Smoothing out the walls (Wallpops only recommends using their NuWallpaper on smooth walls) was probably the worst part of the project, but it was so worth it!
This will be a great space for brainstorming! I aged these buckets with vinegar, peroxide, and salt! Now I have space for my photography equipment as well!
I also spent about a thousand years searching for the perfect desk chairs. I thought we would want rolling chairs but everything I found was just too bulky and not what I was looking for. These striped dining chairs from HomePop (@homepopfurniture on IG) were the absolute perfect solution. They are simultaneously modern but also classically farmhouse with the semi-ticking stripe, and we really don’t need the rollers. They are super comfy too!

The file cabinets are from Wayfair, and I painted them in Bayberry by Fusion Mineral Paint and then spray painted the hardware with metallic gold spray paint. My parents and I drove an hour and a half to get that perfectly rusted vintage crib spring for above the desk. Not only is it the perfect statement piece, but it’s functional as well, since we can clip things onto it – for either necessity or inspiration or decor! My dad helped me hang it from the ceiling (into ceiling joists) so I wouldn’t have to damage the wallpaper!

We built the desk with two 12″x10′ boards that I sanded, stained, and sealed. We then screwed giant brackets into studs and then into the desk top boards themselves in order to ensure stability.

And there you have it! The farmhouse office refresh reveal! I truly hope y’all love it. I’ll be back soon with individual tutorials on various projects in this space! In the meantime, what do y’all think? I hope this space might inspire you to DIY your own home office in whatever style is uniquely yours! Some of my affordable home office tips were also featured by MyMaid, so go check that out, too!
Until next time,
XO,
Ana
