Happy New Year! While this isn’t my typical DIY project post, this is probably the ULTIMATE Do It Yourself project you can do! It’s a you do your ultimate goals and dreams for the year manifestation project! And how exactly do you do that? With a vision board of course!
Look y’all. Real talk here. Vision boarding works. I’ve done it, my husband has done it, and It. Works. Every. Single. Time. Now – with a board like the one we did, with lots of different hopes and dreams all scrapboarded on, you can’t expect everything to happen all at once, or maybe even this year. But it’s the envisioning, the dreaming, and the constant reminder that this vision board will bring you, that is what creates what all of the much more hippie gurus call the law of attraction. What you believe, you become. (Kind of like that who “you are what you eat” mantra, except less icky and more get what you want out of life kind of thing).

Even athletes practice this type of thing – maybe not with a literal vision board, but by envisioning winning a race in your mind, it scientifically makes you more likely to win. Do this envisioning everyday? Well you’ve got yourself a mighty fine chance of coming in first place! So what do YOU want, friend? There is NO dream TOO BIG to dream here! Dream the biggest, most honest, most wonderful things you can dream, and then put them on your board. WORK towards those dreams every day. Envision them coming true Every. Day. And you know what? You’re already nearly there!
What you need:
- Bulletin Board or something similar (we used the vintage crib spring we already had hanging in our office)
- Magazines or photos printed from the internet
- Other items that might be of importance to you (for example, I used my badge from the Haven Conference this past year, because I really want to go again this year)
- Dreams. Goals. BIG ONES!

We divided the board into thirds and went to town with all our goals! This vintage crib spring was the perfect medium for this project, and it’s in a central location for both of us to look at every day!
How To:
There really isn’t much to say here folks – just go at it! You literally can’t do this wrong! We decided to divide our board into thirds. One section for me, one for hubs, and one for our family – him, me and sweet Napa! We then dreamt accordingly, and got to it! It was a wonderful activity to do together as a couple too, especially to start the new year out right! We then spoke our dreams ALOUD to each other, which is something else you can do daily or even weekly to speak your dreams into the universe!

Vision Board Success!
One important thing to remember is to put your vision board in a place where you see it everyday (we put ours in our office, where we often work to literally make these dreams come true)! Seeing your dreams in real life every day is a huge part of attracting them to your life. Think I’m full of it now? I hear ya! But honestly, this works, and I’ll give you an example.
When my husband and I were looking at homes, LOTS of homes, we got quite discouraged. We would find one we liked, only for it to go to an all cash offer or already be in escrow. When we saw the home we have now, we KNEW it was the one. The big yard for Napa, great school district, lovely family friendly neighborhood, and loads of potential. But we also knew it was underpriced, specifically to generate more interest, and thus, a bidding war. And oh friends, a bidding war there was. We wrote three separate offers in a matter of days, wrote a letter to the homeowners, and then sat back and waited while they sifted through 15 different offers. Yup – FIFTEEN offers on this house, ya’ll.
But let’s back up – we actually didn’t just sit back and wait. Instead, we printed out several copies of the listing photos of the house and we taped them all over our tiny apartment. In the bathroom. In the kitchen. In the living room. By the back door. Everywhere. We saw a photo of our home everywhere we turned, and we thought of it as just that – our home, despite now having a clue if it would be or not.
And guess what y’all? It. Became. So! We manifested it into existence through envisioning that it would be. Cooky? Maybe. Legitimate practice that actually works? 1000% YASSSS friend!
SO… we decided to take that practice and apply it to all of the dreams we have for ourselves in 2020 and beyond! Some of our dreams? Well, for me, I’d like to hit 50K followers on instagram, create MORE and AMAZING content here on the blog, go to Haven, go to Magnolia and/or RoundTop with my mom, and hit my first ever 10K income month from blogging (among others). For hubs? It’s to graduate this May with his MBA, play more basketball and tennis, go to the beach more, learn more about the renewable energy industry, and so much more! And as a couple, we want to go to Hawaii or Cancun, spend more time with Napa, who we know will be happy and healthy for the next year and beyond, go paddle boarding more, take dance lessons, have more romantic dates, live with intentionality… and that’s just the beginning!
And now I’m challenging you to dream your dreams and vision board them along with us! I DARE YOU! What do you want this year? What dreams or goals do you have? Put them up on your vision board, look at them everyday, work towards them coming true, and I can’t wait to check in with you at the end of the year to see what you’ve made of these dreams for yourself!
Now let’s rock 2020 together, friends! Let me cheer you on my tagging me with #VisionBoardWithFLI (FLI for Fiddle Leaf Interiors!) on social media, and I’ll repost your amazing dreams! Let’s put that into the universe as much as we can friends! Can’t wait to see what dreams you dare to dream for yourself! Until then….
