Summer is finally here, at least in Southern California! Our weather has been absolutely beautiful the past week or so, and we’ve been enjoying every second! I honestly can’t believe we are already halfway through June, and that the Fourth of July is just around the corner.

We’ll be spending July 4th up in OR with my parents (which will include talking to a few builders about our BUILDING PLANS!!!), so I’m enjoying my Americana and patriotic decor here at the Fiddle Leaf house to the fullest before we leave!

I’m excited to be sharing our summer home decor with you today alongside so many other talented bloggers! If you’re stopping by from Kristin’s page over at White Arrows Home, welcome! And if you’re stopping by from Pinterest, or anywhere else, welcome just the same! I hope you’ll check out all the other amazing summer inspiration from each of the bloggers on this week long tour as well – check the end of this post for direct links to all their pages!

Summer Entryway Decor:

I had some fun with two different ways of styling our entryway this year! First up is the simple everyday look. Just a touch of summer with the straw hats and American flag, but still functional as and entryspace. This is how the entryway looks most of the time. It’s both cute and practical.

But of course I had to go all out with a fun vintage July 4th vignette, too! I loved layering all my vintage goodies up in this space. And the white board and batten provides the perfect backdrop. I’ve been collecting red, white, and blue vintage goods for a few years now, so it was fun to show them all off together, and the metal ‘4’ really adds the perfect finishing touch, don’t you think?

Summer Wall Decor:

This is probably my FAVORITE July 4th decor I’ve ever created, and it only lasted a couple of days! πŸ™ After hanging this up, we got out Arhaus mirror delivery (see the next photo), and this cute wall had to come down so the mirror could move here! But it was sure fun while it lasted!

I created the illusion of an American flag with transferware plates I’ve been collecting. I collect red transferware the most because it is truly the most versatile of all colors. It can be used for Christmas, Valentines Day, and July 4th! It’s also not as popular of a color as blue, so it’s much less expensive on sites like Etsy and eBay.

I love this look so much that I will definitely have to recreate it at some point in our new build…. come back in a couple years for that, LOL!

Summer Decor – The Book Wall:

Enter this beautiful mirror! I linked it in this post for you because it truly is beautiful, but beware that the experience I had with Arhas was terrible. The mirror took 5 months total (2 months longer than stated) to be delivered and their customer service was not great. All in all though, I’m just happy it’s here, because it really is a stunner! Having Booker in the reflection is an added bonus, and I find myself sitting in our front living area more and more to enjoy it!

I kept things pretty simple in this space with some American flags, florals, and a red throw. Since I took down my American transferware flag, I decided to put all my red transferware in a plate rack on the coffee table, instead. We also moved out fiddle leaf fig downstairs and he is LOVING this spot! It feels perfectly summery, open, and less cluttered than things have been in the past for us.

My style has definitely transitioned over the past few years, and I am loving the bolder colors and more simplistic decor situations. This space really just makes my heart happy now!

Summer Mantel Decor

You may remember my summer wreath tutorial from a month or so ago, and that wreath is still going strong! I flipped the vintage mirror around to show the more simple white side (it’s teal on the other). Because the mirror went into the spot where the theatre chairs used to be, we moves the theatre chairs next to the fireplace. Honestly, we keep wondering why we never moved them here before! They are perfect and they look straight out into our backyard, so we actually are using them more than we used to, as well. I find it amusing that we finally got everything into such a good spot in the house, and we are going to be moving in less than a year!! πŸ˜›

The photo below is a photo of our upstairs mantel from last year, but I had to add it in because I just love it so much and I haven’t had a chance to decorate the upstairs this year (and probably won’t honestly given my hectic schedule)!

Summer Decor – Vintage Touches:

And I just had to share these last two photos because those adorable vintage style partiotic kiddos were $4.99 from Hobby Lobby and they are truly SO cute. They add the perfect vintage (albeit faux) touch to the space! And they really just scream Happy Fourth of July!!

And that is it for the Summer Decor Tour here at the Fiddle Leaf House. I hope it gave you some inspiration for your own home! Remember that you don’t have to go crazy decorating for each holiday or season. Some $1 American flags go a LONG way to making your home feel like summer, and you can see those little flags are really 90% of my decor here! Add a couple little extra touches, some summer florals, and you are all set to go! And if you’re like me, your home will stay in Summer mode all the way through late August when the pumpkins come out! Can’t wait for that (because not so secretly, Fall is my fave!)

If you’re looking for more summer decorating inspiration, be sure to head to my friend Ann’s blog Dabbling and Decorating next, as well as checking out all of the amazing bloggers in the tour this week – next summer decor posts going live each day through Friday!

Until next time, friend!
